REV. KAREN L. FOX
Rev. Karen L. Fox was born and raised in Dayton, OH. Rev. Fox has one son Maurice “Matthew”. She is the middle daughter of Rev. Dr. Faye A. Taylor; she has one sister and one brother.
Rev. Fox earned a Bachelor Of Arts majoring in Religion from Wright State University. She has a Masters of Theology from United Theological Seminary. Rev. Fox started her ministerial journey as an Exhorter in 2009. She was inspired by the life story and ministerial journey of Jarena Lee. She was ordained a Local Deacon in September 2010 and then in May 2013 as Local Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church (Ohio South-Ohio Conference). Rev. Fox has completed 1,600 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education from the Dayton Veterans Medical Center. Rev. Facilitated for 6 years at Nursing Home and Extended Care facilities whereas, she was the Outreach minister to residents living there. In addition, she was certified to administer the psychological assessment for Myers Briggs. She currently works for Ohio’s Hospice of Daytonfor as Hospice Chaplain. She is a volunteer Chaplain and first responder for the Red Cross.
As a Local Elder Rev. Fox has had the privilege and honor to preach locally, within the conference area, and for other faith denominations. Rev. Fox is a past choir and usher board member of Wayman. She taught Sunday school for 8 years to pre-school and middle school children at First Baptist Church of Ridgewood Heights. She has been a member of Wayman for 26+ years.
