REV. KAREN L. FOX

Rev. Karen L. Fox was born and raised in Dayton, OH.   Rev. Fox has one son Maurice “Matthew”.   She is the middle daughter of Rev. Dr. Faye A. Taylor; she has one sister and one brother.  

Rev. Fox earned a Bachelor Of Arts majoring in Religion from Wright State University.  She has a Masters of Theology from United Theological Seminary.  Rev. Fox started her ministerial journey as an Exhorter in 2009.   She was inspired by the life story and ministerial journey of Jarena Lee.  She was ordained a Local Deacon in September 2010 and then in May 2013 as Local Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church (Ohio South-Ohio Conference).  Rev. Fox has completed 1,600 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education from the Dayton Veterans Medical Center.  Rev. Facilitated for 6 years at Nursing Home and Extended Care facilities whereas, she was the Outreach minister to residents living there.  In addition, she was certified to administer the psychological assessment for Myers Briggs.    She currently works for Ohio’s Hospice of Daytonfor as Hospice Chaplain.  She is a volunteer Chaplain and first responder for the Red Cross.   

As a Local Elder Rev. Fox has had the privilege and honor to preach locally, within the conference area, and for other faith denominations.  Rev. Fox is a past choir and usher board member of Wayman. She taught Sunday school for 8 years to pre-school and middle school children at First Baptist Church of Ridgewood Heights.   She has been a member of Wayman for 26+ years.  


 ELDER MYCAL B. KELLY


A Dayton, Ohio Native who grew up singing in the church, Elder Kelly is an anointed musician and servant of God with rich experiences in church music and worship. Elder Kelly has formally served in progressive ministries as Minister/Pastor of Music, Worship and Arts. In this capacity, Mycal has been responsible for a diverse staff of musicians and artists. A resource for the local church, he is frequently invited to present workshops on the use of arts to enhance the spoken and sung word. 


Founder and CEO of Mycal Kelly Ministries International, he is a licensed minister and was recently ordained as an Elder. He served on the presbytery for the Word Centered Fellowship, a multi-cultural nondenominational body committed to building and strengthening local churches.   Currently Elder Kelly resides in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Elder Kelly joined the ministerial team at Wayman in February 2015. Through Elder Kelly’s progressive approach to ministry and his ability to create a corporate flow in the house, Wayman under his leadership is setting  trends for its creative use of the arts in the worship experience.  Elder Kelly is instrumental in helping worhippers participate by implementing Christian education programs to enhance their knowledge thus making a smoother transition in more traditional style Ministries to receive and celebrate diversity in its presentations of the Gospel.  These elements have helped make the  churches that Elder Kelly has worked with  leaders in the area of worship.  

 

Mycal has also been a regular participant in the University of Dayton's annual Gospel Music Workshop, presenting sessions on the use of the arts in the black worship experience. He has traveled to the Island of Jamaica, West Indies. There he has held his music crusades which were designed to strengthen local church music ministries all over the island. He has received several awards and has been recognized for his presentations by educational and religious organizations.  


Elder Kelly received his formal music training at Indiana-Purdue Universities at Fort Wayne and continues to improve his skills through association with other professional musicians. He has performed with gospel greats Jessye Dixon, Beau Williams, Brenda Whitfield and Keith Staten. For several years he has worked closely with Dr. Donna Cox at the University of Dayton in various capacities. Through his ministry involvement at Revival Center, Mycal has served with Carlton Pearson, Derrick Floyd, Tyrone Williams, Rodney Posey, Larnelle Harris and Phil Driscoll. It is Minister Kelly’s desire that God uses him as a tool to establish his praise-filled kingdom. The manifestation of this answered prayer is obvious each time Mycal ministers.


Mycal has been married to Juanita Jones Kelly, an anointed singer and composer, since 1983
